I can write down all I know about configuring the Terratec DMX6fire. It would be nice if you would add this card to the sound card matrix so that I can easly add a comment there.
well, we need definitely more explanatory texts in this area ;) at least, the more examples would be helpful. i'll try to add some.
for all users / developers (who understand english): it'd be greatly appreciated if anyone contributes more texts or corrections of the online documents. we've been lack of resources in this regard.
I found quite a few questions regarding this card in the list archive (the need to configure xmms and mplayer to use the plughw plugin, the possibility of using dmix (thanks to Frank Bartknecht!), how to arecord from specific input channels, explanation of envy24control) which could be answered in the card's entry, because that seems to be the best place for keeping all infos about one card together.
Am I right that dmixing as in the Howto only works for the fixed samplerate that is defined in the slave section of pcm.ossmix? Any possibility to create a dmixing pcm that accepts both 44100 and 48000 Hz?
