I'm trying to set up my Hercules Game Theater XP 7.1 to work in surround mode. How do I enable the rear, sub and center channels and then test all channels to make sure they are working fine? I'm using Mandrake 9.2 Linux and KDE desktop.
I also noticed that sometimes the sounds are just somehow metallic. For example I have some mail notification sound set and mostly it works just fine but sometimes its sound is metallic. Can anything be done about this problem?
Are there any other tips or instruction for setting up this sound card?
