Hi all! I'm new to the list, so please be patient and don't blame me if my problem turns out to be a well known one.
Upgrading the kernel from 2.4.22 to 2.4.23 on my Slackware 9.1 box, I tried to upgrade Alsa from 0.9.6 (distro default) to 1.0rc2, including the -driver, -lib and -utils and -oss packages. Gnome 2.4 could succesfully start the esound daemon with the right mixer settings. But when I tried both games and multimedia apps, the sounds was "hopping" (i.e. with small random gaps). Back to 0.9.6, I had to play a bit with the code in order to compile it with the 2.4.23 headers, but now all is ok and sound is good as well. Is there something more I have to do for a correct upgrade or should I consider this a bug? Thanks in advance.
