I run a HP nx9005 notebook with a docking station (port replicator) F808b. The nx9005 comes with an ALI 5451 soundchip. Linux kernel is 2.4.23 with alsa-driver 1.0.0rc2, snd-ali5451.
lspci -v 00:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: ALi Corporation M5451 PCI AC-Link Controlle r Audio Device (rev 02) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company: Unknown device 0024 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 5 I/O ports at 8400 [size=256] Memory at d0005000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2 Everything works well - as far as I have tested - with one exception: there is no signal at the headphone-out on the docking station. Headphone-out on the notebook is o.k. Test with oss-free driver: same result. Test with oss-commercial driver: works. Test with WinXP: works. It seems that the port on the docking station is fully functional, but the driver doesn't recognizes it. My knowledge in this area is somewhat restricted - gently spoken. I don't even know how to run further diagnostics. Any help is greatly appreciated.
