One more question if you dont mind....

What does actually happen when using these plugins, a card wich 
interleaves the channels (e.g. EWS88MT), and a mmap'ed interface ?

Do all clients get a pointer to the raw (HW) data and are their
pointers and offsets manipulated to make them access the right
channel(s) while they believe they are using 0 and 1, or is the
data copied for each client ?


One other matter: in the driver for the EWS88MT you mention that
the consumer part (device #2) does not function correctly. I tested
this some time ago and found it worked, but producing a mono signal
only. If you have any suggestion on where to look to fix this, I could
have a go.
