Hello all, I am currently trying to install ALSA on a Dell latitude notebook
with an Intel 82801 sound system running Fedora core 1. On this system I
have done the following:
1. Confirmed that sound is working I assume using the old OSS drivers.
2. Yumed and installed all updates from freshrpms.
3. Installed all relevant ALSA rpms from freshrpms.
4. Ran alsaconf which for some reason did not find any PNP soundcards. I
am assuming that I first need to remove the pre-installed sound drivers
which hopefully aren't compiled into the kernel.
My question is: Is it possible for me to install ALSA under this
configuration with out recompiling the kernel?
thanks much for any help.
Mike
