The error "no such device" does not tell you anything. The alsa driver returns ENODEV any time it encounters any type of error. So "no such device" translates into "something went wrong". Without knowing more details, it is impossible to troubleshoot this sort of problem.

is there anybody who knows this problem:

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device

I downloaded alsa* Release 1.0.1 compiled and installed it.
I am able to find the modules with lsmod.

Help is appreciated.
