I'm using the Planet-CCRMA distribution, with an Audigy 1 and RedHat 9. Lately, there's been a faint popping sound in the speakers every few seconds, which, of course renders audio unusable. I can't be sure when it started happening. I upgraded to an NVIDIA 5600 card a while back. I thought for a while that it might have been just interference from a line-in input, but it isn't.
I really don't know how to diagnose this.
