Hi all, (kernel 2.6.0, 1)
I am having no luck in capturing audio, either from line inputs or microphone. there is one odd thing... and I have posted this before... If I compile the drivers as modules, load/unload then maybee. 10-20 times? I will be able to capture audio. until I reboot... then I have to do that again. Any ideas why that is? hardware problem? throw it all ways and start anew? :) never again will I buy a board with onboard audio...... :( I have tried several mixers to unmute/adjust audio... alsamixer, ect. I have never been able to get this to work without major grief. the apps that are doing the capturing are OSS applications, and there is no doubt that the problem lies there. Alsa works, but it has a *lot* of problems with this I use, mainly games. other than that I think it has a lot to do with the POS onboard sound sucking, as well. my oddities, while im posting: via82xx : quake3 engine games dont work, no way, no how. no special options settings, no setting up special full/half duplex stuff. it simply doesnt work, shrugged off as a crappy soundcard, which it is. sound quality with OSS is very bad, crackles, pops. fooling with the dxs_support settings helps this. but doesnt seem to cure it. audio capture seems to not work, unless you load, unload the modules like 10 times, and ive had to do it upwards of 20 times to get it working. emu10k1: more or less, works... and just about flawlessly only issue, is the sound capture and having to load/unload the modules 10-20 times. hardware problem? works great otherwise. I pipe most sound thru this card. and it doesnt mind having a few things use it at once :) Any help in this, I would appreciate if anyone wants more info, do ask. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Perforce Software.
