2.6.x comes with its own ALSA driver, so if everything works I guess there's no need to compile extra alsa-drivers. When I upgraded to 2.6, I just turned on the ALSA options in the kernel and didn't touch anything else. The "old" alsa-lib-0.9.8 (compiled with alsa-driver-0.9.8 on 2.4.x) are still there and work fine. See also: <http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=AlsaBuild2.6>. Regards...
