Hi all,

I'm wanting to move across to linux (Mandrake) and am working out which soundcard to
get. I like the Omni studio USB (not the omnistudio delta 66 which I know can work
under Linux). Here's a reply I got back from tech support at M-audio re: Is the USB
OMnistudio standards complient:

"The OmniStudio USB is NOT a USB Standards Compliant device as this
"Standard" is rather low to allow such devices to work in any system
without drivers. Our devices, though they conform to the USB Specification,
go far beyond it which is why drivers are needed.

So I am assuming that it wont work under linux. Someone tell me that's not true!! Is
anyone out there planning to develop drivers for this card?

What I'm actually after is a portable 4 in phantom power with at least 2 mic pre's.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Matt.
