Howdy. Recently Frank Barknecht I believe was running tests on a number
of USB based audio interfaces to see which worked with the 2.6 kernel and
ALSA. The M-Audiophile appears to be permanently dead in the water and as
I am pretty much hooped without sound and according to posts there are
supposed to be alternatives, I was wondering if anyone knows where (if)
these are posted?

The Roland (Edirol) UA-1X series *do not* work (at least with the Asus
A7V333 mb I have) so I have little faith in any of the other Edirol stuff.
I'm getting pretty desperate and it *really* sucks not having audio (I
hate having to boot into 98SE just to record something.

Any suggestions in the 1 to 3 bill range appreciated.

I do not want to go PCI if I can avoid it (I'd still like to be able to
use this device when I next upgrade and PCI-X is just about here).

Cheers
