I am having troubles with my intel8x0 onboard sound ( Intel Corp. 82801EB AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02) ).
It works great in kernel 2.6.0-mm1, which i beleive has alsa-driver-0.9.7. However, I have attempted upgrading to both 2.6.2 and 2.6.3, and in both i have a problem with the driver. When i first boot up, it fails to load mixer settings due to a missing control. So then I have to set them again, no big deal. However, somewhat odd, the master control is missing, I only have master mono. After toying with the mixer for a long time I was unable to find any way to get audio output with this new driver. Then i noticed this in dmesg: codec_read 0: read timeout for register 0x2e I get tons of those, every time I attempt to play audio. Help appreciated, kevin ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
