Hi, I've a problem with the latest Soundblaster Live! 5.1 They kept the model number (SB0220), but changed the chip onboard. And the new one saturates the output with ALSA.
The old one (eMicro 28028, production year 2002) was ok. The new one is a Sigmatel STAC9708T... I have an even older one (I think, with SigmaTel STAC9721/23), that is ok too. I'm using the latest drivers (1.0.2c) on a vanilla i386 kernel. I played with the mixer a while, but I didn't find any solution to have a clean output. The sound is saturated at all output level (master & pcm). -- Christophe Greisberger ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
