Hello, I bought some time ago a mobo biostar m7vig pro. This includes a southbridge via8235 and an ac97 cmi 9739a. I installed Mandrake 9.1 on it, and sound has some problems. Using alsa driver( 0.96), the mixer can switch only between sound on and sound off. I read on forums than I'm not the only one having this problem, every motherboard including the cmi9739a is in the same case.
Have you started some development in order to fix this problem or is buying a small supported sound card the only way to solve it? If something is started already, I'm already candidate for testing purpose.
