a) What do you have in /etc/modules.conf. Don't tell us it is all OK. Tell us what is there for us to see if it is OK. b) Try the various ouput ports on the back of your system. Sometimes the output does not come out of the output port you expect it to. c) Do you hae oss emulation installed. Most sound stuff uses the oss /dev/dsp to play sounds.
