Hi,

I am the owner of a Terratec Aureon 5.1 USB-device, which work with ALSA (1.0.4). That is, I get sound out of the device, but are having some problems:

Playing a mpg, ogg, mp3 in mplayer using alsa9 as the audio-output makes the audio/video go to fast! Using oss as audio-output (using alsa-oss-emulation) works great.
In Windows, I have the option to set the soundcard to either DVD or Games. I do not know the differnce, but if I set it at DVD, and play a game (say Need for Speed Undergroud) it goes to fast! Just like the mp3s in Linux.

So I guess there are some timerdevice or something that the alsa-drivers doesn't/can't read?

One other thing I do not know how to do, or if ALSA is able to do:
The card has a mic/digital in, headphone/digital out, and three sets of phono out (as any 5.1 soundcard today, just phonoplugs, not 3.5mm jack).

I use the digital out, and it works. But in alsamixer, I get (from left to right): PCM (Captur), PCM Capt (Mic), PCM 1 (Captur), Mic (Captur), Auto Gai, Speaker and Speaker.

This does mean that ALSA doesn't see the 3.1 extra channels?

Does anyone here got a Terratec 5.1 Aureon USB which works good with alsa?
