thx for your response. hmmmm.... i didn't test it, 'cause i could not hear anything from assumed line-in or mic. to my surprise [not your's, i suppose :)], there is a chance, but there will be some fiddling with the mixer in the future for me. I have made a test with my md-player connected to line-in and get a result when alsamixer thinks it's a mic. 21:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/3 ~ > arecord -D hw:0,0 -f cd test.wav Recording WAVE 'testmic.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo Aborted by signal Interrupt... 21:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/3 ~ > aplay test.wav Playing WAVE 'testmic.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo all fine with the .asoundrc from <http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=DmixPlugin> i did not manage to get alsamixer working with the mic, but there will be a setting which wants to be spotted from me. i wonder why i cannot hear sounds from incoming, line-in...
