I've had a problem since I change to alsa (currently I use 1.0.3 ) I can't figure how to record from Audigy 2.
In alsamixer none of the controls seem recordable (pressing space does nothing, the ---- I'd expect to see on a recordable control is not on any control).
I also have snd-via82xx for an onboard VT8233/A/8235 which works fine.
All the inputs on the audigy seem working and I expect it to be /dev/dsp0 but cat /dev/dsp0 > test.wav aways gives 0 byte file.
Recording from vis82xx works as expected (cat /dev/dsp1 > test.wav)
I think I wrote recently the problem is related to the order I load sound devices. I think thats wrong and its the emu10k1 that always has the problem no matter if it is first or second card.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
Also how can I tell what /dev/dsp is associated with which alsa device?
