Hi all, I have a Tosh Satellite (P4 1700GHZ) with the i810 sound. The messages you quote are normal. They appear in my dmesg output also BUT alsa works fine on my machine with jack, xmms (any of: jack, alsa, oss emul), audacity (alsa portaudio V19, oss emul).
The key difference is that I am running Slackware V9.0 (Kernel V2.4.25) + Low Latency Patch + Alsa 1.0.2c. Note I also build the kernel and all my apps and drivers from source code tarballs. I also have a desktop unit (AMD K7 Athlon) with the A7N8X motherboard (i810 audio) and an additional PCI soundcard (Monster MX400 - ES1978(Maestro 2E) + Canyon 3D) which worked OK until I did something wrong with the module loading and/or the alsa setup. But they DID work together. This machine also is Slackware 9.0 (V2.4.25) + Low Latency Patches + Alsa 1.0.2c. All this does not help you solve your problems but it should let you know that it will work eventually. ;) I am wondering if there is a problem in the 2.6.x kernel... :o good luck Linton -----Original Message----- From: Robert Jung [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2004 2:56 PM To: Cournapeau David Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Alsa-user] Sound quality problem on a i810 chipset Hello Cournapeau, Tuesday, April 27, 2004, 8:52:56 AM, you wrote: CD> Hi there, CD> Mainly because I want to use the jack server, I use alsa driver on CD> my debian laptop, CD> which has a intel 810 chipset. I noticed, that OSS only works fine, so I believe this could be a bug? Also my card trys to use AC97 modules. -- Best regards, Robert mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Oracle 10g Get certified on the hottest thing ever to hit the market...
