Setup:

alsa 1.04, kernel 2.4.26
Creative SBLive card
Pinnacle PCTV PRO card connected to the SBlive

I started using ALSA because of the SBlive card. It is great all
speakers work and I had no problem installing it. The bttv card works
also like a charm. I can watch tv without any problem. Now I want to
record from the card and here the problems start arising.

As I understand it I have several possibilies:
1 record using /dev/dsp and get the input from the cable. this always
seems to be mono rate 8000. The mixer is more then overwhelming there
are so many ways of doing it wrong (I think I found most of them already
grin).
2 use snd-bt87x. Question is how? I have added the card
to /etc/modules.conf (attached) when I load it, I don't get any sound
from it whatever I try.

So is there anybody out there with the same setup and willing to share
it? Are there ways I can control more of what is happening?
