SOLVED. When connecting a mic to the front mic input I encountered the following: The noise described above seemed to be connected to the adjustment of the gain. In addition to that it sounded like the input was extremly overdriven. I do not know if this card has limiters/compressors for its inputs but it sounded like a pumping compressor. I checked the configuration files again and found, that the ctl entry was missing in my .asoundrc. After adding this, the mic input now works as expected and the noise is gone.
