Hello, and merry christmas everyone!
I'm trying to use my 2 surround speakers as a simple stereo output and I get
this error :
$ aplay -Drear plop.wav
ALSA lib pcm.c:1969:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Invalid type for PCM rear definition
(id: rear, value: cards.pcm.rear)
aplay: main:544: audio open error: Invalid argument
Trying with -Dplug:rear results with exactly the same error.
Some information on my system :
$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [nForce2 ]: NFORCE - NVidia nForce2
NVidia nForce2 with ALC650F at 0xdb087000, irq 11
ALSA version :1.0.10
I obtain those results without any asoundrc...
As a workaround, I'm using
pcm.prear {
type plug
slave.pcm surround51
slave.channels 6
ttable.0.2 1
ttable.1.3 1
}
which works, but blocks the whole device. Should I hope for better ? If not,
shoudln't the rear device do that for me already ?
Thanks,
Bruno
