Hi Lee. In /usr/share/alsa/cards. But I may be looking in the wrong directory, and they are all .conf files. The only other place I can find emu10k1 is in. /lib/modules/2.6.10-0.4.rdt.rhfc2.ccrma/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1. there are three object code files here. snd-emu10k1.ko, snd-emu10k1-synth.ko, and snd-emu10k1x.ko which I believe is the card used on Dell computers. I think perhaps I am in the correct directory here, as apart from subdirectories for emu10k1, ice1712, trident, etc, I have some files, and one of these is snd-cmipci.ko. I presume that this is the directory that the module snd-cmipci is being loaded from, if I had a soundcard requiring that driver. This is all a bit academic, but I'd like to understand a bit more about Alsa, where the the souncard drivers are, etc. Nigel. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
