Are there any particular problems using this preinstalled card on Dell machines. Putting aside the need to use a snd-emu10k1x rather than a snd-emu10k1 driver. Are there problems loading soundfonts to this card? I presume that apart from making sure that awesfx is installed, the only other slight change would be that snd-emu10k1x-synth would be loaded, rather than snd-emu10k1-synth. Are there any other problems, making this a bit of a "bastard" (excuse the language) card. If so, is is it better to replace it with a proper SBlive using emu10jk1? All out of academic interest, and trying to improve my understanding of Alsa. Nigel.
