Hello,

I have a MythTV system setup with an AVerMedia AVerTVHD MCE A180 and overall
everything is working well, with the exception of the analog audio port sample
rate (for capturing from the VCR). I have the saa7134_alsa module installed
and working, however it is only delivering at 24000 samples/second. Just
for clarification here is my system config:

$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.15 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.0.2) #13 PREEMPT
Sat Jan 14 10:25:24 EST 2006

$ cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.10.
Compiled on Jan 29 2006 for kernel 2.6.15.

I determined the 24000 sample rate by capturing with arecord as two channel raw
then used aplay to play it as a single channel 48000 and it is correct. After
this I made a simple change to saa7134-alsa.c to allow for continuous sample
rate selection and now I can record and playback 24000 correctly. Of course
the quality isn't as good as it should be. I also tested to make sure I was
in fact getting stereo sound and both channels are there, just at half rate.
It seems strange because the datasheet on the SAA7133HL doesn't include this
as a valid sample rate (it list 48000, 44100 and 32000). I have to assume
it really is sampling at 48000 and loosing half the samples somewhere.

Suggestions anyone?
