Actually it sounds like what he wants is that the same input be delivered
to two separate programs. Not mixing, but splitting.

He could of course run a little program to do the splitting. The problem is
synchronisation. How do you make sure that all the data gets to all of the
outputs. And that all of the outputs want the data in the same form (eg if
one asks for 22050Hz and the other for 48000 Hz you are in trouble. )

He is almost certainly using the alsa oss emulation layer rather than real
oss drivers.
