And in this instance, while the kernel is 2.6.18-rc6, the install itself is 
FC2, with lots of tarball derived mods, usually for stuff that didn't work 
in FC2 even after weeks of updates way back in the mists of time now.

And adding that seems to have stopped that nonsense.  Now I have another 
log filler, but I don't believe its related to this.

Better yet, FC6 will replace it, from scratch, when its out.
In the meantime, it works for what I want to do other than running kino for 
video editing.  That died with the new ieee1394 kernel content at about 
2.6.9ish.  Presumably FC6 will have that working again.
