Yes, thats the old multiface. Only difference is different converters 
and the volume knob.

Yes, well, there is a very easy solution to this problem: Either your 
distribution has a package called something like 'alsa-firmware', or 
you simply install the firmware there yourself:

1. download it from 
http://www.linuxproaudio.org/downloads/firmware/multiface_firmware_rev11.bin
2. place it in /usr/share/alsa/firmware/hdsploader
