No sign of recognition of hardware or anything.

My BIOS is v. similar to your own, I have the following two under
chipset/southbridge:
AZALIA Audio: [Internal, External, Internal+External, Disabled]
(Internal codec is included in chipset is is for HDMI Audio function

External codec is an onboard codec ex. ALC883 . . . )

Front Panel Select: [HD Audio, AC97]

I have it set to Internal and HD Audio currently. I will try a distro kernel
in a few minutes.
