Hi people,

I'm the happy owner of such a notebook, fortunately almost all
subsystems are working perfect. The Alsa hda-intel driver is also almost
working ... almost ...

I have read all possible guides and how-to's, and faqs, and forums and I
have not succeeded at solving my problem. This notebook has an HDMI
interface connected to an NVIDIA gfx card, for the video part, and I
guess to the HDA codec as well, for the audio part.

The video signal in the HDMI interface works, but no luck with the
digital audio signal.

The HDA codec in this notebook is the STAC9872AK. It should have both an
analog and a digital component. But aplay -L shows only the analog
component.

Am I inherently wrong in my supposition? If not, how can I help
developers to fix this problem? I would do anything on my hands in order
to help.

I have read the instructions at
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Help_To_Debug_Intel_HDA, but
I do not even know how to compile the driver with HWDEC support so I can
use the HDA Analyzer tool.

Any help will be welcomed.

I'm attaching the following infos, please feel free to ask anything else
needed:

proc_asound_cards.txt --> The contents of /proc/asound/card*/codec#*
lspci.vvnn.txt --> The HDA related part in lspci.

Thanks in advance.
