I am also attaching kernel and system logs for FW4 and FW2014-2
Thank you,
Davor.

Sorry for re-posting, but I made a mistake naming the files..
Hello all!
I have two Audio-gd DACs, they both use VIA VT1731 USB receiver chip,
but they have different firmwares. The problem is, that one of the two
firmwares behaves "strange". The DAC does not "lock in" correctly,
when it is set to 2x oversample, but has no problems when set two 4x
or 8x oversample (these are WM8741 filter features). By "does not lock
in" I mean, that DAC is recognised by the system, but only noise is
heard. This noise (sounds like white noise) stops when music is started.
I know this is not ALSA problem per se, but would like to know if
anybody can explain why this is happening.
I am attaching lsusb -v prints:
FW4 - has no problems in locking
FW2014-2 - DAC set to 2x oversampling (noise problem)
FW2014-4 - DAC set to 4x oversampling (same FW/DAC as FW2014-2, but
set to 4x oversampling, no problems)
FW4-FW2014-2diff - diff output between FW9 and FW2014-2 (2x
oversample) lsusb -v output
FW4-FW2014-4diff - diff output between FW9 and FW2014-4 (4x
oversample) lsusb -v output
FW2014-2-FW2014-4diff diff output between FW2014-2 (2x oversample) and
FW2014-4 (4x oversample) lsusb -v output
To avoid misunderstanding, I did try to change firmwares on DACs, but
problem appears no matter which DAC is used, so the problem is in the
firmware, not the DAC.
Thank you,
Davor.
