Hello Paul,

thank you for your response. I filled a bug report. Here is the link:

I'm on Fedora 32 with a Navi14 GPU (PULSE RX 5500 XT 8GB) connected via HDMI. Since Kernel 5.6 I have a crackling sound with some echos. It seems the crackling are getting worse when music and voice are come together.

Here are the alsa-info.sh output:
Kernel 5.4: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=a51d43c18273c3c79d4341e251a32542e2ee3714 Kernel 5.6: https://alsa-project.org/db/?f=97cd639a2a416f2a5875b7534dd39ce38c36bd93 Kernel 5.7: https://alsa-project.org/db/?f=31d9a277aa2e0bca24e6089ba5c1e302ec2c89a1

On Kernel 5.4 everything is fine.

Maybe it has something to do with this?

No idea.

Any idea how to fix this issue?

The fastest way to get this fixed is to bisect the issue, as you can do that yourself. If that is not possible, maybe at least pinpoint the (release candidate) version the regression started happening. (It’s not clear if 5.5-rcX is affected, right?) Maybe Fedora already offers such packages.

Either way, please create an issue in the kernel Bugzilla [1], and reply to this message with the bug report URL.

Kind regards,
