Subject: Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League DOG HOUSE NORTH STARS WIN THE COMMISSIONER"S CUP For the third time in four seasons , the Dog House North Stars have captured the Commissioner's Cup and first place during the regular season. A loss by the Cardinals to the Hounds on Thursday evening gave the North Stars first place and homer advantage throughout the playoffs .Dog House gets a bye to the second round semis but we will have to wait until the final two regular season games of Monday night in Azilda to find out who will be the second place finisher and also getting a bye to the semis. The North Stars did it with defense and only one pitcher for the whole season Randy Dennis. Should the Whitefish Steelers who surprisingly defeated the North Stars twice during the regular season win against the Native Sons on Monday night they would clinch the fourth position for the quarter finals.Veteran Al Guenette had a fine season on the mound (5 wins and one loss) to win the pitching crown for 2008. Corey Farmer of the Hounds a slo-pitch player for most of his career has come to the fold in the last three seasons as he approaches his late 30's and this 2008 season certainly was a breakout one for him as he has clinched the batting crown with a high average of 775 , most hits at 26 , most runs scored at 18 ,most doubles 7 and most triples with 4 . If we are to look at candidates for MVP the following names will have to be considered : Corey Farmer (Hounds) ,Randy Dennis(North Stars) and Al Guenette (Steelers) If no rain interrupts the final two regular season games of Monday night in Azilda , the playoffs (quarter finals first round) should get underway in Whitefish on Wednesday July the 30th.The quarter finals are best of 3 affairs while the semis and the championship final will best 3 out of 5 series. * Check the attachments three of them : up dated team standings ,top pitchers and top hitters Should you want to know all the averages and pitchers as well as the scores of the regular season check out the league web site at :www.allprosoftware.net/RMMFL Yours in fastball forever , Roger Legendre Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League Al's Fastball News *Email: fastball(at)pmihrm.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] NEWS-1: http://www.AlsFastball.com/ NEWS-2: http://fastpitchwest.com/alsfastball VIA http://www.webbox.com _______________________________________________ Alsfastball mailing list Alsfastball@fastpitchwest.com http://fastpitchwest.com/mailman/listinfo/alsfastball_fastpitchwest.com
