CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - SOFTBALL ONTARIO SLO-PITCH PROVINCIALUMPIRE-IN-CHIEF
NORTH YORK,ONTARIO - Softball Ontario is now accepting applications
for the position of Slo-Pitch ProvincialUmpire-in-Chief. The
successfulcandidate must be an active Slo-Pitch Umpire registered
with Softball Ontario. He or she should have experience as aZone
Umpire-in-Chief, as well as a minimum of Slo-Pitch Umpire Certificationof
Level III or higher. Fiveyears of experience as a Slo-Pitch
Umpire is an asset. Highlights of the responsibilitiesof the
Slo-Pitch Provincial Umpire-in-Chief include:
Participate in the SelectionProcess for sending Umpires to Slo-Pitch
Canadian Championships
Prepare theSlo-Pitch Travel Fund budget to be administered by
the Slo-Pitch UmpiresCommittee and the Softball Ontarios Program
Coordinator
Select the new ZoneUmpires-in-Chief
Communicate closely with SoftballOntarios ProgramCoordinator
regarding the day-to-day operations of the program
Attend NationalUmpires-in-Chief meetings, and act as a liaison
to the National Director ofUmpires on Slo-Pitch Umpire Matters
Attend SoftballOntario Board of Directors meeting and act as
a liaison to the Chairman ofSoftball Ontario on Slo-Pitch Umpire
Matters and as a BoardMember
Schedule, chair and establish theagenda for each Slo-Pitch Umpires
Committee meeting in conjunction with theProgram Coordinator
Schedule, organize and assign duties for the Softball Ontario
Slo-PitchInstructor Training Clinic and the Slo-Pitch Zone
Umpires-in-Chiefmeeting
Appoint Slo-Pitch Ontario Association Tournament Umpires-in-Chief
