Thank you Softball Alberta is a not for profit provincial sport association located in Edmonton, Alberta and is responsible for the development and promotion of Amateur Softball in the Province of Alberta. Under the direction of the Softball Alberta Board of Directors, the Executive Director will serve as the chief operations officer for the Association. He/She is responsible for the interpretation and implementation of Association policies, bylaws, rules and regulations relative to day to day operations of the Association. Executive Director Job duties and Responsibilities Summary: · Directly responsible to the Softball Alberta Board of Directors · In conjunction with the Softball Alberta Board of Directors and staff, maintain existing membership needs and deliver value added programs. · In conjunction with the Softball Alberta Board of Directors and staff, develop new relationships with potential members and assist to grow the membership base. · Directly responsible to supervise the day to day supervision of Softball Alberta staff which presently sits at 3.5. · Serve as Softball Albertas primary contact, on a professional level with the Government of Alberta, Softball Canada, media, and other agencies. · Oversee and assist in preparing the Association grant applications and funding requests. · Preparation and submission of the Association A.S.R.P.W.F Grant application and development of the Association 3 5 year business plan. · Develop and prepare the annual budget in conjunction with Softball Alberta Board of Directors. · Ensure that proper financial management procedures and principles are followed in Association with the Director of Finance for the Association. · Maintain Softball Albertas contractual agreements and corporate records. The Executive Director shall possess the following attributes: · A university degree in Business, Sports Management or Physical Education or a diploma in Recreation with a strong background in sport. Combination of education and quality work experience may be accepted. · A passion for and strong understanding of the sport of Softball at the local, provincial and national levels. · Administratively sound and experienced in fiscal and budget management. · Solid written and verbal communication and marketing skills · Computer proficiency and a solid understanding of MS Office applications. · Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize properly · Experience in grant writing and fund development initiatives would be an asset · Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal skills · A valid Drivers License This is a permanent full time employment position. Remuneration is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate must successfully pass a police records check as part of the qualifications required for the position.
