Late Thursday night (early Friday morning) in their suspended game with the Saskatchewan Junior Diamondbacks, Mark Lewis with a three run home run and Brad Ezekiel with a solo blast, both in the fifth inning, rallied the Canadians from a 2-1 deficit to a 6-3 win to finish round robin at a perfect 8-0. Earlier Thursday night, Newfoundland and Labrador downed the only other team that could take first place from them, the Ontario champion Scarborough Wolverines, 7-3 thanks to a three run top of the seventh. Ezekiel, who has hit safely in six of 23 at bats driving in four runs, said it was a relief to get the win and game out of the way. "That game was big for us, everyone played well," Ezekiel said.
