Subject: Preparations underway to welcome best Midget Girls teams in Eastern Canada to Alberton -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preparations underway to welcome best Midget Girls teams in Eastern Canada to Alberton Schedule released will see 36 games played over four days in Alberton and OLeary BY PAT HEALEY ALBERTON - Final preparations are underway in Alberton and OLeary to welcome the 12 best Midget Girls teams in Eastern Canada to the region for the 2007 Tignish Credit Union Midget Girls Eastern Canadian championships. With such a large turnout of teams coming, resulting in a 36 game schedule, a third field was needed to be utilized, and OLeary fit the bill. OLeary will be utilized for nine games over Friday and Saturday with Thursday and Sunday action taking place at Albertons two diamonds. The two pools see six teams in each side, with the host team leading Pool B. Ontario no. three, Ontario No. One, Quebec no. two, Nova Scotias champs and New Brunswick runner ups all fill out Pool B. In Pool A, it is P.E.I. champs, Ontario No. Two, the provincial champs from Quebec, Nova Scotia No. Two and New Brunswick No. One and Three. All the action gets started Thursday with three games before heating up Friday (15 games) and Saturday (12 games) leading into Sundays playoff and championship round (six games). The tournaments opening ceremonies take place Friday following the 11 a.m. games between Quebec no two and the Host (Memorial); P.E.I.
