REMINDER TO REGISTER AND CARDED WITH SOFTBALL ONTARIO
NORTH YORK, ON- Softball Ontarios Provincial Umpires-in-Chief Jack Van Bynen and Peter Kluszczynski want to remind you that you need to register and card with the Softball Ontario Umpires Program. Please make note the important deadlines for Ontarios Umpires: Umpire Registration Application Deadline August 31, 2011 is the final deadline for all Umpire Registration Application for Fast Pitch and Slo-Pitch to be received at the Softball Ontario office Umpire Carding* Deadlines May 30, 2011 is the carding deadline for Umpires who wish to officiate at Provincials, Eliminations, Canadian Championships and Softball Canada International Assignments August 31, 2011 is the final deadline for all Fast Pitch and Slo-Pitch Umpire exams to be received by the Softball Ontario office Softball Ontarios Slo-Pitch Provincial Umpire-in-Chief, Jack Van Bynen encourages all Umpires in Ontario to act before the deadline(s): Once you register and card with Softball Ontario you become a member of the best Umpires Program in Canada where the opportunities and services are second to none. I cannot stress enough by registering and carding with Softball Ontario you provide yourself with two important pieces of equipment: accident and liability insurance coverage and testing your knowledge of the rules by reading the Softball Canada Rule Book and completed the Softball Canada National Umpire Exam. While Softball Ontarios Provincial Umpire-in-Chief It is important that all Softball Ontario Umpires who would like to attend a Provincial or Canadian Championship(s) for the 2011 Softball Season become a member of Softball Ontario and complete their exams for the May 30, 2011 deadline. I am proud to be a Softball Ontario registered and carded Umpire and encourage all Umpires in Ontario who have not registered by this date or complete their exam to do just the same." Also, you can fax your completed application into the Softball Ontario office at 416-426-7368. *Please note the term Carding or Carded refers to an Umpire who has written the Softball Canada National Umpire exam. Once a successful mark is achieved depending on the level of the Umpire, Softball Ontario/Softball Canada Umpire Card is issued. An Umpire cannot be considered Carded until he or she has successfully completed the Softball Canada National exam. Softball Ontario is the governing body for the sport of softball in Ontario. Our goal is to promote and develop the sport of softball for its athletes, officials and volunteers by providing programs and services at all levels of competitions.
