Perkhabaran diterima memaklumkan Tan Sri A. Samad Ismail kini sedang tenat.
Ahad lalu, saya, Azizah, Izzah dan Shahrir sempat menziarahi beliau
yang kini sedang terlantar di Hospital Pantai. Sabelum daripada itu,
sahabat beliau, Dr.
Syed Husin Ali turut meluangkan masa melawatnya.

Jika disorot kembali sejarah era penjajahan, tidak boleh dinafikan
sama sekali perjuangan beliau menentang penjajahan Jepun dan British
melalui Kesatuan Melayu Muda, disusuli peranan beliau mendrafkan
Perlembagaan Rakyat bersama-sama Pak Sako dan Ahmad Boestamam.

Saya mendoakan agar beliau terus dikurniakan kekuatan oleh Allah SWT
untuk melawan penyakit. Buat keluarga Pak Samad, diharapkan terus cekal
memanjatkan doa ke hadrat Ilahi. Semoga barakah Ramadhan ini membuahkan
kerahmatan buat semua.

Al-Fatihah - Pak Samad
Posted on September 4th, 2008 by Nathaniel Tan

I note with great sadness the passing of Pak Samad. May the rest of us honour
his memory by upholding his ideals…

I had the great honour of meeting him once, at a Raya open house which Nuraina
was kind enough to invite us to. I think he was having a chat with Rocky and
Zam at the time.

Rest in peace, Pak Samad.
