Dear all,

Here is a short introduction about our draft. Our proposed solution introduces
a way to transfer the guidance or costs only using Network Location
identifiers/PIDs (we called it CPID) directly.

The Network Map and the cost Map are separated in P4P. In our proposed
solution, the Network Map and the cost Map are melted into one map. The element
in this map can act as new type of PID, which we called CPID. As the same as
the original PID in the network map, CPID provides an implicit way to specify a
network aggregation. Besides, it can also reflect the costs/weights between
peers indirectly. Assume that CPID1 is the CPID of peer1, and CPID2 is the CPID
of peer2, then cost between these two peers could be represented as the
following equation.

COST(peer1,peer2) = FUNC(CPID1, CPID2)

Through this way, P2P application could select peers according their CPIDs. It
can balance the workload on the server and also reduce the risks regarding to
the privacy issue, especially for P2P application.

Feedback and comments are appreciated!

Best regards,

Yan
