Dear everyone, I’ve beed reading the draft "Application Layer Traffic Optimization (ALTO) Cross-Domain Server Discovery-- draft-ietf-alto-xdom-disc-00” these days and have some comments as follows: The authors present cross-domain server discovery in ALTO, which is important in multi-domains network. They consider multi domains in the network and different ALTO servers might have not the same knowledge. Then they design a method to pick up the optimized server for an ALTO client. The authors describe the procedures in detail and consider both IPv4 and IPv6, which is very considerate.
I just have a few opinions on other part of the draft: page5 sec1.1.2 para 2 line1: for the 1.?->the ’?’ seems an mistake here. page5 2.2: what’s "a small to-be-defined extension of the ALTO protocol”?-> No reference, no explanation about the extension version, so the readers would be confused here. The last problem is that the authors list all the figures in the draft at the end of the draft, making the draft hard to read. If the figure appears at where it was mentioned, that would be better. Best, Lili _______________________________________________ alto mailing list [email protected] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/alto
