In the meeting today, we had a discussion on how to prepare the coming IETF.
The current plan is to follow the structures proposed by Qin, and different
members from the working group will participate on the aspects of:
1. Push forward the current WG documents
2. Prepare the recharter discussion
2.1. Survey on implementations, deployment experiences and issues
2.2. OAM support for ALTO
2.3. Analysis of ALTO over HTTP/2 and HTTP/3
2.4. Use cases with strong and realistic need
Some important issues are raised in the meeting:
- how to justify "strong" and "realistic" use cases
- sort out well-established extensions that are ready to be standardized and
research efforts on several aspects
It is also agreed that the actions below are to be taken:
- Richard will respond to performance metrics in a week
- Luis will give an update in two weeks
- Richard, Jensen, Mahdi and Luis will work on some individual drafts
- Kai will contact Danny on the implementations and also deployment experiences
(especially on issues)
- Richard will get in touch with Vijay on the implementation information from
the previous ALTO inter-op
- Kai will update the wiki page and add detailed features
