Hi all,

The ALTO WG continues the develop an open-source code base for the ALTO
standard. During the upcoming IETF 114 Hackathon and following up from the 113
Hackathon work done in Vienna, we plan to continue demonstrations with two
project hackathons:

- "SDN-based MPTCP-aware and MPQUIC-aware Transmission Control Model using
ALTO". The focus of this project is on integrating ALTO with an SDN controller
to obtain the state of the network and assist the controller in optimizing the
selection of paths for MPTCP and MPQUIC-based applications.

- "Optimizing Global Large Scale Data Transfers for Science Networks". The
focus is on optimizing the performance of the file transfer protocols used in
global science networks (e.g., file transfers originated from CERN in Geneva
destined to scientists and research labs across the globe, ) by using network
state information provided by ALTO.

If you want to work on ALTO integration with production networks and the
development of its open-source stack, this can be a wonderful project to work
on. Don't hesitate to reach out to us!
