Hmm, odd. It maybe that they were too close or there was something about lying the altimeter directly on the table. After I wrote that it was working again, it stopped working, but then I picked up the altimeter and it worked (ie the monitor idle came on). I only had the 6" whip on the teledongle.
Anyway, I put them on Facebook as proof - I'll see if I can link them into you. The 6v LEDs seemed to light up ok - the LiPO is a modified one.
