Or use a HT and a directional antenna if you have one...

That's a good way to tell if you are *receiving* a good signal. It doesn't mean the TeleMetrum
isn't *transmitting*.

The fact that you lost the signal as/after the rocket landed suggests that you were no longer in "line-of-sight" of the transmitter and therefore couldn't "see" the transmissions.

(Perhaps you would have be able to receive if you climbed up a tall ladder (or more practically)
on top of your (or someones) motor home.)
