I changed how TeleGPS worked after I had a couple of people tell me
about turning TeleGPS on/off half a dozen times and 'filling' the
available memory in the unit with nearly empty flights.

I suspect what might be useful is to have the TeleGPS software on the
host offer a way to split the data at some reasonable boundary; that way
you could analyze the data and generate .kml files with the existing tools.
