I've registered one PID with openmoko for our ChaosKey device, but
didn't feel like we should be using that space for our other
devices. Actually registering with the USB-IF is a rather expensive
proposition, of course.

The 0xfffe space has essentially been co-opted for free software, with a
Eric Blossom acting as a central register handing out PIDs to suitable
projects.

Are you having any particular troubles with this VID?
