Hi everyone,
I am having problem recovering files. Luckily this is only test run.
Okay the problem is, everytime i run amrecover, after adding the file i want
to recover, i issue the extract command and this is the error message i
would get:
Extracting files using tape drive /dev/null on host localhost.
The following tapes are needed: DAILY02
Restoring files into directory /huge/tmp
Continue? [Y/n]:
Load tape DAILY02 now
Continue? [Y/n]:
EOF, check amidxtaped.debug file.
amrecover: short block 0 bytes
UNKNOWN file
amrecover: Can't read file header
extract_list - child returned non-zero status: 1
Here's what the amidxtaped.debug file has ti say:
amrestore: missing file header block
amrestore: WARNING: not at start of tape, file numbers will be offset
amrestore: 0: reached end of tape: date <8D>
amidxtaped: amrestore terminated normally with status: 1
Rewinding tape: rewinding tape: Inappropriate ioctl for device
I have attempted this many times and on different tapes too, but still same
error. Can anybody help?
