The general consensus is that pre-built packages of Amanda are a bad
thing because of all the configuration information that is (currently)
compiled in. How about if you installed gcc on the box and then built
Amanda with that?
Compliments of a local AIX guru (and the AIX FAQ), you can get a pre-built
gcc by going to www.bull.de. There is a link on the top level to
"Freeware/Shareware" and from there you can navigate to the repositories.
Be sure you get a version of gcc built for your particular OS revision.
If you get really desparate, I have AIX boxes available and could
probably take your configuration parameters and build something for you.
